First ADB President to receive the Highest Honor Award from the President of the Republic of the Philippines, 1 December 2004
Outgoing ADB President Tadao Chino was conferred the Order of Sikatuna (Grand Cross) with the rank of Datu by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at Malacanang Palace. The Order of Sikatuna is the highest honor given to foreign dignitaries who have made exemplary contribution to the country and the Filipino people.
