Accident/Incident Reduction
ADB Headquarters Today

With guidelines and best practices in place, accidents/incidents have been reduced. All service contractors receive ISO orientations on use of proper personal protective equipment, and are required to understand, the use of Material Safety Data Sheet for chemicals used in their work.

Today, OAS continues to manage all ISO-related activities through its ISO Secretariat. It leads earth-friendly initiatives to increase the awareness and involvement of ADB employees in helping reduce the institution's "environmental footprint."

In 2006, ADB received its new 3-year ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification. The new certificates show ADB's compliance with the requirement of the two international standards for pollution prevention, resource conservation, occupational health and safety and emergency preparedness. The new certificates are valid until November 2009.
