ADB's Commitments to Aid Effectiveness
ADB's Commitments to Aid EffectivenessSince endorsing the Paris Declaration in 2005 and Accra Agenda for Action (AAA) in 2008, ADB has been actively harmonizing its policies, procedures and practices with its principal development partners through technical working groups and operational policy roundtables. It has also been participating in international efforts to monitor and evaluate progress on the Paris targets on aid effectiveness. ADB is mainstreaming the Paris Declaration principles into its operations both at the country and institutional levels. It is also monitoring the progress of its efforts to reach the goals set under the Paris Declaration by the agreement's target of 2010 through annual surveys and independent evaluations. ADB, jointly with other donors have agreed to support national efforts toward localization of the Paris Declaration and in implementation of the AAA. This joint approach will be to support an integrated program that will minimize transaction costs for individual donors and maximize responsiveness to country level needs and concerns. |
