20 Ways ADB Is Helping the Poor
There are about 900 million absolutely poor people in the Asia-Pacific region. ADB is reaching out to them in so many different, innovative ways.

Poverty
Ridding the Asia-Pacific region of poverty is what development is all about, and what ADB is all about.
NGOs
Nongovernment organizations are joining ADB in a broad coalition in the fight against poverty. They bring valuable knowledge and experience to the development process.

Women
So often disadvantaged, so often overlooked, so full of potential: ADB is helping to unleash Asia's female force.
Children
The future of the Asia-Pacific region is in their hands, something ADB fully recognizes - and responds to.

Private Sector
The main turbine in the engine of pro-poor sustainable economic growth is the private sector.
Corruption
ADB is working to rid the Asia-Pacific region of the cancer of corruption.

Environment
Three decades of hectic but uneven growth have severely impacted Asia's fragile environment. It's time to repair the damage.
Pacific
Remote, small, vulnerable -- the Pacific islands present a special development challenge for ADB.
