The Urban Environment-Poverty Nexus

The ADB's Poverty Reduction Strategy highlights the urban environment-poverty nexus. Environmental improvement and poverty reduction policies must be developed and actions need to be planned and implemented in a comprehensive manner. ADB is supporting poverty reduction through urban environment improvement to:

  • Strengthen understanding of the issues
  • Identify best practices
  • Secure commitments for actions
  • Establish monitoring and network mechanisms to measure performance

The outcomes will be presented at the seminar.
