Curriculum Vitae

DANTE CANLAS is secretary of socioeconomic planning in the Philippines. Before assuming his current post, Secretary Canlas was actively involved in academia, serving as department chair and college secretariat at the University of the Philippines School of Economics. He was president of the Philippine Economic Society. He had numerous visiting appointments abroad including as professor at Northern Illinois University, and as research fellow at the Institute of Developing Economics in Tokyo and at Industrial Relations Section of Princeton University.
