Curriculum VitaeVIJAY CHANDRU is professor of computer science at the Indian Institute of Science (IIS) and a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences. He has taught at Purdue University and held brief appointments at the University of Pennsylvania and at IBM's TJ Watson Research Center. Since 1998, he has been involved in bridging the digital divide, and he is one of the seven founding trustees of Simputer Trust. They worked for two years until 2001 to bring the Simputer technology to prototype stage. Since then, Mr. Chandru together with the co-inventors of Simputer and three colleagues from IIS, is involved in founding PicoPeta Simputers, aiming at commercializing Simputer and implementation of Simputer based solutions. He holds a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
