KENNETH MCLAY is managing director of Standard & Poor's (S&P) Risk Solutions. Based in Melbourne, Mr. McLay leads the Risk Solutions Group in providing credit risk management services, primarily to financial institutions, in Asia and the Pacific, excluding Japan and the Republic of Korea. Previously, he worked in the S&P Financial Institutions Ratings Group assessing the credit risk of, and assigning credit ratings to, financial institutions in South East Asia. He had management responsibility for the S&P Financial Institutions Group in South East Asia and the subcontinent since 1994. Before joining S&P in 1992, he worked in the chartered accounting, banking, and insurance sectors. He holds a postgraduate diploma in accounting from Flinders University, South Australia, and is a chartered accountant in Australia.
