J. MARK MOBIUS is president of Templeton Emerging Markets Fund Inc. He directs analysts based in Templeton Organization's 11 emerging markets offices and manages the emerging markets portfolio. Dr. Mobius has spent over 30 years working in Asia and other parts of the emerging markets world. He has received numerous awards including most recently the Emerging Markets Equity Manager of the Year 2001 by International Money Marketing. He was also named as one of the Ten Top Managers of the 20th Century in a survey by Carson Group, and as number one global emerging market fund manager by the Reuters Survey in 1998. He holds a PhD in economics and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master's degree from Boston University.
