HUBERT NEISS is chairman of Deustche Bank's Asia Pacific Head Office, following a career of over 30 years with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). At IMF he served in the European Department before moving to the Asian Department and becoming the director of the department. During the Asian financial crisis, he had a key role in negotiating and monitoring emergency programs in the region. While working at IMF, he also taught economics at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining IMF, he worked at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research in Vienna. He holds a PhD in economics and business.
