BRAHM PRAKASH is director, Poverty Reduction and Social Development Division, Regional and Sustainable Development Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Previously, he served as assistant chief economist. Before ADB, he undertook academic research, training, and policymaking roles in India, Sri Lanka, and Canada. He was senior fellow and head of the Educational Planning Unit, the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, and reader (economics) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Bombay. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto.
