DAVID ROLAND-HOLST is James Irvine professor of economics at Mills College, US. He is a leading expert on policy modeling and social accounting matrices, with extensive research on international trade and development. He has served in several academic posts in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the US. He also worked with public institutions including the ADB, Inter-American Development Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, World Bank, and the United Nations, as well as with governments in Europe and the US. He has undertaken applied research in over 25 countries, and authored numerous journal articles and books. He holds a PhD and MA from the University of California, Berkeley.
