Curriculum Vitae

MASARU YOSHITOMI is dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute. He is also visiting executive professor and chairperson of US-Japan Management Studies at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has held key government positions as director-general of the Coordination Bureau, Economic Planning Agency, and director-general of the Economic Research Institute, EPA. Prior to this, he was director of the Economic and Statistics Department at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Earlier in his career, he served as economist at the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Tokyo and was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.
