Multilateral Guarantees: A Practical Approach

Against a backdrop of shifting market conditions in the Asia and the Pacific for borrowers and investors, the seminar will focus on practical issues of mitigating risks for foreign and local investments, and promoting access to capital markets. Key questions that the session will include:

  • What are the borrowing and hedging needs of capital intensive infrastructure projects, small and medium enterprises, and the housing sector where revenue is in local currency?
  • What kinds of multilateral guarantee instruments are available for covering credit and country risks?
  • How can the multilateral guarantee instruments facilitate access to international capital markets and develop local capital markets?
  • What are the emerging trends in development of innovative financing instruments and cofinancing strategies applicable to emerging market borrowers?
