ADB President Registers for 37th Annual Meeting, as Official Program Opens

JEJU, REPUBLIC OF KOREA (13 May 2004) – ADB President Tadao Chino registered for his organization's 37th Annual Meeting of its Board of Governors, as the official program of events opened today in Jeju island.

About 3,200 delegates are expected to attend the five-day event, which officially opens on Saturday at Jeju’s International Convention Center. Today’s program includes an Open Forum on ADB-NGO Cooperation, a Seminar on Corporate Restructuring in Asia, and a welcome briefing for the media, at which President Chino will announce the outcome of the negotiations for the replenishment of ADB’s concessional lending instrument, the Asian Development Fund.
