About Annual Meetings

Annual meetings are statutory occasions for Governors of ADB members to provide guidance on ADB administrative, financial, and operational directions. The meetings provide opportunities for member governments to interact with ADB staff, nongovernment organizations (NGOs), media, and representatives of observer countries, international organizations, academe, and the private sector.

Over 3,000 participants attend Annual Meetings. These include finance and economic planning ministers, senior government officials, representatives of the multilateral development bank community, investment bankers, representatives of NGOs, and journalists.

Annual meetings are held in a member country in May for three days. The seminar program commences two days earlier with discussion focused on topical issues such as governance, poverty reduction, development finance, international financial architecture, economic and social development, information technology in development, and presentations to investors by finance ministers (ADB governors) of developing member countries.
