HIGHLIGHTS

Impact of the Proposed Basel Capital Accord on Asia's Lenders and Borrowers

4 May 2005 (12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m.)

Standard & Poors
(Organized in cooperation with Standard and Poor's)

The proposed Basel II Accord will have far-reaching impact on the way regulated lending institutions manage and allocate capital. The seminar will highlight the key challenges that banks across Asia will face in allocating capital and the impact that it will have on liquidity and borrowers.

This seminar will consider the following:

  • Will Asia's borrowers have to pay more for funds as a result of the Basel II Accord?
  • Will lenders in Asia still be as willing to finance expansion and growth in the private sector?
