Capital Markets: What Does the Future Hold?

4 May 2005 (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

With the rapid increase in managed assets in Asia, investors are searching for the best long-term growth prospects. The past few years have been challenging for investors around the world. The reversal of fortunes in financial markets during 2000-2002 was painful for many. Although the markets rebounded in 2003 and 2004, often with positive results for globally diversified investors, current world events suggest imminent global growth risks: oil prices are rising sharply, the economy of the People's Republic of China is expected to slow down, and continued conflict in the Middle East could darken the outlook for capital markets. How can investors in the Asia and Pacific region overcome obstacles and sustain their investment performance?

World-renowned experts in the asset management industry, representing a powerful mix of expertise in fixed-income and equity investment, will discuss various capital markets and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for investors. Participants can share their perspectives during the question-and-answer session.
