C. Randall Henning
C. RANDALL HENNING has been professor in the School of International Service (SIS) American University,
since 1995. Before joining the SIS faculty, he was at the Institute of International Economics (IIE), Washington,
DC (1986-1995), where he remains a visiting fellow. He specializes in the politics and institutions of international
economic relations, international and comparative political economy, economic policy making and regional
integration. He has focused specifically on international monetary policy, European monetary integration,
macroeconomic policy coordination, finance G-7 and G-8 summit cooperation, East Asian financial cooperation,
and comparative regionalism. Currently, he is conducting projects on the political economy of East
Asian regionalism, transatlantic economic relations, and the relationship between regionalism and multilateralism.
He is the author of numerous publications and has contributed many articles to academic and policy journals
and chapters to edited volumes. He has testified at several congressional committees, served as the 1999
European Community Studies Association Distinguished Scholar, served on a Fellowship Selection Committee
of the German Marshall Fund of the United States, and been faculty president of SIS during academic year
2004-2005. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, and master’s degree in law and diplomacy
and doctoral degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, USA.
