Ryozo Himino
RYOZO HIMINO is the secretary general of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. He also serves as
the chairman of the Committee’s Core Principles Liaison Group (CPLG), a forum for senior G10 and non-G10
supervisors, and as the interim chairman of the Task Force on the Future of Capital Regulation (CTF). Before
assuming his current responsibilities, he was director, international regulatory policies, at the Japanese Financial
Services Authority. He received a bachelor of law from the University of Tokyo and a master of business
administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School.
