Huaqing Wang
HUAQING WANG has been the assistant chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC)
since 2005. He is also director-general of the CBRC’s Shanghai office, a post he has held since 2003. He was
director-general of the Banking Authorization and Supervision Department of People’s Bank of China (PBC),
and vice president of its Shanghai Branch. He is director of the China Society for Finance and Banking, and
standing director of the China National Association for International Studies. He also serves as vice-chairman
of the Shanghai Society for Finance and Banking. He is part-time professor at the Shanghai University of
Finance and Economics, School of Economics and Management in Tong Ji University, School of Management
in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Graduate School of the People’s Bank of China. He has published
several books and numerous academic papers. He has a doctoral degree in economics from the Southwest
University of Finance and Economics, Louisiana, USA.
