K. Vaman Kamath
 

K. VAMAN KAMATH is managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of ICICI Bank Limited. He has been CEO of ICICI since 1996. ICICI is an Indian financial institution that later founded ICICI Bank and merged with it in 2002. During this time, the ICICI group became a diversified banking group that includes India’s leading retail credit provider as well as its leading private sector insurance companies. Before that he had worked for the ADB since 1988 and spent several years in Southeast Asia. He started his career in 1971 at ICICI. He is a member of the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry, the Board of Directors of Visa International (Asia-Pacific) and governing boards of several leading educational institutions. He has a degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
