Sadakazu Tanigaki
 

SADAKAZU TANIGAKI has been the minister of finance of Japan and a governor of ADB since 2003. In 2002– 2003, he was chair of the National Safety Commission and minister of state for the Food Safety Commission. In 2000, he was chair of the Financial Reconstruction Commission. In 1998–1999, he was state secretary for finance, and before that minister of state for science and technology. In 1995–1996, he was chair of the Standing Committee on Rules and Administration in the House of Representatives, where he had been chair of the Standing Committee on Communications. In 1990, he was parliamentary vice minister for defense, and in 1988–1989, parliamentary vice minister for posts and telecommunications. He was elected member of House of Representatives in 1983. He is a lawyer.
