Governors' Seminar: A Shared Responsibility: Fixing Global Payments Imbalances

Asia’s net lending to the rest of the world continues to expand. Does this reflect a savings glut or a dearth of investment in Asia? How does the picture vary across Asia? And what are the risks to developing Asia of a disorderly unravelling of the so called “global payments imbalances”? The governors’ seminar will present perspectives on these critical issues, and what might be done to address them.
