Isher Judge Ahluwalia

ISHER JUDGE AHLUWALIA is currently Chair of the Board of Governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, where she served as Director and Chief Executive from 1997 to 2001. She is a member of the Government of India’s National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council. She was Vice Chair of the Punjab Planning Board, Chandigarh, from 2005 to 2007. She is on the boards of numerous research institutes in India, including the National Council of Applied Economic Research and the Madras School of Economics, and she is associated with a number of international research organizations, including the Global Development Network. Her research focuses on industrial development and economic liberalization in India. She holds a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
