Amando (Say) M. Tetangco, Jr.
AMANDO (SAY) M. TETANGCO, Jr. has been Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) since 2005. He
is also the Alternate Governor for the Philippines in ADB. Before this, he served as BSP Deputy Governor in
charge of banking services, economic research and treasury, and functional areas geared toward maintaining
monetary stability. He sits on various boards, including the National Economic and Development Authority
Board, National Food Authority Council, and Industrial Guarantee and Loan Fund Review Committee. He
served as Alternate Executive Director for the Philippines at the International Monetary Fund in Washington,
DC, from 1992 to 1994.
He has been closely involved in the activities of various international and regional
organizations, including the Executive Meeting of East Asia and the Pacific Central Banks, ASEAN and ASEAN
+3, South East Asia Central Banks, and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in the promotion of regional
cooperation initiatives such as the Asian Bond Fund and the ASEAN Swap Arrangement, and the economic
and financial surveillance of member countries. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's
degree in public policy and administration from the University of Wisconsin.
