The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Dhaka Power System Upgrade Project, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.
The Rural Electrification Board (REB) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the construction of REB Training Academy Building for the construction of the REB training academy building including supply, erection, testing and commissioning of elevators, electrical substation, generator, central air-conditioning, fire detection, fire fighting and security systems, deep tubewell, etc.
International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.
Bidders may obtain further information from, and inspect and acquire the bidding documents at the address below.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
- write to the address above
- commencing on 16 March 2006
- pay of a non-refundable fee of Tk 10,000 or
US$ 100 in the form of pay order or demand draft in favor of the REB
The document will be sent by courier for an additional cost of Tk10,000.0
Bidders should submit their bids:
- to the address above
- at or before 11:00 am (Bangladesh Standard
Time) on 16 May 2006
- together with a Bid Security of not less than
Tk4.5 million or an equivalent amount in a
freely convertible currency
Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend. Late Bids shall be rejected.
