1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities" on 28 October 2005.
2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gas Transmission and Development Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loans to payments under the contract named above.
3. The Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of API 5LX60, ERW 323.90 mm OD corrosion coated line and other small diameter pipes, and API 5L Grade B 406.40 mm OD, ERW casing pipes for the construction of 323.90 mm OD, 53.00 km length high pressure (1000 Psig) natural gas transmission pipeline from Bonpara to Rajhshahi.

4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

6. The Bidding Document, in English, may be purchased by interested Bidders during working hours from 29 January 2007 upon submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD75 or Taka 5,250. The method of payment will be in by demand draft or pay order in favor of GTCL. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:00 am (BST) on 20 March 2007. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD108,000 or Bangladesh Taka 7,560,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened immediately at 11:30 am (BST) in the presence of Bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
8. GTCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
