The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan and a grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Second Urban Primary Health Care Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to eligible payments under the contracts for which this Invitation for Bid is issued.

The Ministry of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives (MLGRDC) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders, NGOs, provider associations and other health care private agencies from member countries of the ADB for provision of health care services for the population in 22 partnership areas

Local competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to the address above
  • pay of a non-refundable fee of Tk. 6,000 for each package. Electronic copy of the Bidding Document may be obtained for an additional fee of Tk500.0. Payment may be made by pay order, bank draft or money order to:

The document may be sent by fax or courier for an additional fee of the cost for the set(s) incurred. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bidders should submit their bids:
  • to the address above
  • on or before 3:00 p.m. (Bangladesh time) on 22 December 2006
  • together with a Bid Security of Tkk2.5 million

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend. Late Bids shall be rejected.

MLGRDC will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
