Loan No. 2178: Infrastructure Development Project

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Infrastructure Development Project. The loan was approved on 18 August 2005.

The TA Loan will (i) strengthen the environment for, and improve the sustainability of, infrastructure investment; (ii) outline an infrastructure investment program for the short, medium and long-term; and (iii) prepare specific investment and institutional capacity interventions for the infrastructure sectors.

Procurement
All goods and services under the Project will be procured in accordance with ADB Guidelines for Procurement.

Consulting Services
International and/or domestic consulting firms will be engaged using ADB'S quality-and cost-based selection and quality-based selection (QBS) as appropriate for each subproject. Certain subprojects will utilize QBS as they require expertise of limited availability. Individual consultants will be engaged in accordance with ADB Guidelines on the Use of Consultants and other arrangements for recruitment of domestic consultants acceptable to ADB.
