The People's Republic of China has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Dali-Lijiang Railway Project and it intends that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Prequalification is issued.

The Consortium of China International Tendering Company (the Procurement Agency) authorized by West Yunnan Railway Company (the Employer) intends to prequalify eligible firms for track-laying and bridge-erection under this Project.

Length of Main Track: 165.032 km
Length of Track-Laying: 162.707km (main line); 5.32 km (connecting line); 38.016 km (sidings)
Turnout-laying: 141 sets
Bridge Erection: 845 (span); 40 (piece for turnout)

It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made available in April 2006.

Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the Procurement Agency and inspect the Prequalification Document at the address given below between 830-1130 hours and 1330- 1630 hours (Beijing time) from 21 November 2005 to 20 January 2006 (except Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays).

To purchase the Prequalification Document in English, interested applicants should:
  • write to the address above from 21 November 2005 to 20 January 2006; and
  • pay a nonrefundable fee of RMB 850.0 or USD100 in cash, check or direct deposit to the Procurement Agency.

Documents will be sent by registered airmail for an additional fee of USD30 or RMB240.0. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Deliver the Application for Prequalification:
  • to the address below with the envelopes clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for Track-laying and Bridge-Erection of Dali-Lijiang Railway Project"
  • on or before 1700hours (Beijing Time) on 20 January 2006. (Late Applications will be rejected).
