Platforms and Beach Channels

The Republic of Marshall Islands has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Outer Islands Transport Infrastructure Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to eligible payments under the contracts for which this Invitation for Bid is issued.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders from member countries of the ADB for works associated with navigational aids, reef platforms and beach channels including:

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to Bidders from eligible source countries.

To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:
  • write to the address above
  • pay of a non-refundable fee of USD 150.0 in bank draft or cashier's check in favor of "Project Account- Loan 1948-RMI"

The document will be sent by courier or may be collected by an authorized representative of the bidder from the above address. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be held at MOTC on 18-19 January 2006.

Bidders should submit their bids:
  • to the address above
  • on or before 11:00 a.m. on 1 March 2006 together with a Bid Security of not less than 2% of the total Bid Price

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend. Late Bids shall be rejected.

MOTC will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

In the comparison of bids, ADB's domestic preference will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
