Invitation for Bids

1.    This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB Business Opportunities on 17 June 2008.

2.    The Republic of Armenia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract No. L2363-ICB-2-06. This contract will be jointly financed by the Government of Armenia.

3.    The Armenian Water and Sewerage Closed Joint Stock Company (AWSC) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the supply of the following Equipment and Materials:

4.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

5.    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from AWSC and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below from 9:00 to 18:00 hour.

6.     To purchase a copy of Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

1. Visit the office of Armenian Water and Sewerage CJSC (AWSC) at the address below and pay a non-refundable fee of AMD 30,000 or USD 100. The method of payment will be by direct deposit to Armenian Water and Sewerage CJSC accounts below; or
2. Request for delivery by sending a written application to AWSC at the address above. The application must include proof of director deposit to Armenian Water and Sewerage CJSC accounts below for the amount of AMD 40,000 (local delivery) or USD 200 (overseas delivery). The document will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7.    Bids must be delivered:

• to the address below;
• on or before 15:00 hour on 27 October 2009. Late Bids shall be rejected.
• All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 12,000.

Bids will be opened immediate after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at address.

8.    The Armenian Water and Sewerage CJSC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.

9.    In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will not be applied.
