Invitation for Bids

1.    This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the ADB Business Opportunities on 17 June 2008.

2.    The Republic of Armenia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract No. L2363-ICB-2-05. This contract will be jointly financed by the Government of Armenia.

3.    The Armenian Water and Sewerage Closed Joint Stack Company (AWSC) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for supply of 8 Backhoe Loaders.

To pass post-qualification, the Bidders shall have at least 2 similar size and nature of contracts executed during the last 3 years. The delivery period is preferably 3 months but not later than 4 months.

4.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

5.    Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from AWSC and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below starting 30 July 2008 from 9:00 to 18:00 hour.

6.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

• submit a written application to the address below
• pay of a non-refundable fee of AMD 30,000 or USD 100 for each set. The method of payment will be by direct deposit to AWSC accounts:

• The Bidding Document may also be sent via courier for an additional fee of AMD 10,000.00 for local delivery or USD 100.00 for overseas delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7.    Bids must be delivered:

• to the address below;
• on or before 15:00 hours on 19 September 2008. Late Bids shall be rejected.

8.    All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of Bid Price. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend at address below at 15:00 hours on 19 September 2008.

9.    The AWSC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
