Loan and Contract No.:2205-AZE: East-West Highway Improvement Project, Republic of Azerbaijan, Ganja Bypass and Gazakh-Georgian Border, ID Nos. 01 and 02

1. The Government of Azerbaijan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the East-West Highway Improvement Project, Ganja Bypass and Gazakh-Georgian Border Section. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contracts named above. Bidding is open to prequalified bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

2. The "AzerRoadService" Open Joint Stock Company of the Ministry of Transport invites sealed bids from prequalified eligible bidders for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Ganja Bypass section (ID No. 1) and Gazakh-Georgian Border section (ID No. 2) works consisting of

  • ID No. 1 - Reconstruction works for Ganja Bypass comprising reconstruction of existing 2-lane highway including construction of new box and pipe culverts, 3 new bridges and installation of road furniture, road signs and signboards for road safety; and
  • ID No. 2 - Reconstruction works for Gazakh and Georgian State Border comprising reconstruction of existing 2-lane highway including demolition of 1 existing bridge and replacement the new one, as well as construction of two new bridges near the two existing bridge, construction of new box and pipe culverts and installation of road furniture, road signs and signboards for road safety.

4. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

  • write to address above requesting the bidding documents for East-West Highway Improvement Project, Republic of Azerbaijan, Ganja Bypass section (ID No. 1) and Gazakh-Georgian Border section (ID No. 02).
  • pay separately for each contract a non-refundable fee of 200 New Azeri Manat (AZN two hundred) in the form of bank draft, cashier's check or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency to the above address of Azer Road Service OJC, (which will be operational starting 3 September 2007) during business days (between 9:00 to 18:00 hrs).

5. Deliver your bid:

  • to the address above.
  • on or before the deadline: 15 October 2007, at 12:00 a.m.
  • together with a Bid Security of 1,000,000 New Azeri Manat (one million AZN) for Ganja Bypass section and 1,000,000 New Azeri Manat (one million AZN) for Gazakh-Georgian Border section.
Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.
