Invitation for Bids
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the "ADB Business Opportunities", issue no. 3, Volume 26 of March 2004. 2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Second Primary Education Development Program (PEDP- II), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contracts Contract No. GD-178 lot Nos.1-3. 3. The Secretary, National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), Bangladesh now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for procurement of paper in three Lots as mentioned below.
A bidder may submit bid for any one or any two or for the three lots using separate Bid Submission Sheet and Price Schedule for each lot. 4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. 5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document during office hours on all working days (Sunday to Thursday 09.00 to 17.00 hours) from Member (Textbook), National Curriculum & Textbook Board (NCTB), 69-70, Motijheel C/A, Dhaka-1000 (Phone-880-2-9550805, Fax-880-2-9565724). 6. A complete set of Bidding Document (for all three Lots), in the English language may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to:
7. A per-bid meeting will be held at the address below on 3 June, 2009 at 11.00 hours in the NCTB's conference room. Interested Bidders or their representatives are requested to attend the meeting. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 14:00 hours BST on 29 June, 2009. Bid Security as mentioned above must accompany all bids. The Bid Security should be in the form specified in the bidding documents. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at 14:30 hours BST on 29 June, 2009 in presence of the Bidders' or their representatives who choose to attend at the address below. 9. The authority will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or submission of Bids. 10.
