Invitation for Bids
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this program that appeared in the ADB Business Opportunities on 26 March 2004. 2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Primary Education Development Program (PEDPII) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the above contract for the Procurement of Motor Bikes. GOB, ADB, DFID, The Netherlands, Norway, SIDA and CIDA will jointly finance this contract. 3. The Director General, Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) and Program Director, Second Primary Education Development Program (PEDP II) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Package No. GD 303.1 for the Procurement of 525 nos. 100 cc Motor Bikes. 4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. 5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document from the following address during office hours (09.00 to 17.00 hours) on all working days (Sunday to Thursday): Office of the Director (Finance) 6. 7. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the address below on 7 September 2009 at 11.00 hours in the PEDPII conference room. Interested Bidders or their representatives are requested to attend the meeting. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 8 October 2009 at 14.00 hours BST. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of BDT 0.788 million or in US$ 11,250. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidder's representatives who choose to attend the address below at 14.30 hours BST on 8 October 2009. 9. The authority will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or submission of Bids. 10. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders. 11.
