Invitation for Bids
1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Secondary Towns Integrated Flood Protection (Phase-2) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Procurement of 8 units of Bulldozers and 11 units of Garbage Truck for which this Invitation for Bids is issued. 2. The Project Director, Secondary Towns Integrated Flood Protection (Phase-2) Project (STIFPP-2), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the procurement of the following goods for the purpose of the program.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries. 4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address given below from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00 hrs BST. 5. The bidding document in English language may be purchased from 8 December 2007 by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tk 3,000.00 or of US$ 45.00. The method of payment will be in the form of cash or bank draft in favor of the Project Director, STIFPP-2, LGED. The document may be sent by courier for an additional fee of US$ 40.00. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. 6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 13:00 hrs BST on 20 January 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security as mentioned in the above table in the form of Bank Draft or Bank Guarantee. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 13:30 hrs BST on 20 January 2008. 7. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids. 8.
