Invitation for Bids

1. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Urban Primary Health Care Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bid is issued.

2. The Local Government Division, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives ("the Employer") now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following contracts to be delivered to Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal & Sylhet City Corporations and Bogra, Comilla, Sirajgonj, Savar & Madhabdi Municipilaties.

3. National competitive bidding will be conducted under the procedures in accordance with Public Procurement Regulations 2003, acceptable to ADB. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible member countries of ADB.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain additional information and inspect the bidding document at the address given below from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

5. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address above, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee as mentioned in the table above. The method of payment may be made by dispatching by the courier service to the STD AC # -36-4, Janata Bank, Nagar Bhaban Corporate Branch, 5 Phoenix Road, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh. The document will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 31 December 2007 at 12:30 pm. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security mentioned above. Late bids will be rejected.

7. The Project Director, UPHCP-II will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.
