Invitation for Bids

Date:26 September 2007

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the adb.org on 28 October 2005.

2. The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Gas Transmission and Development Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loans to payments under the contracts named above.

3. The Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of various seismic equipment and related services for appraisal of Titas, Bakhrabad, Sylhet, Kailastila and Rashidpur five gas fields.

(Details and specifications are provided in the Bidding Document). Bidders are free to bid for one package or a any combination of packages.

4. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage, One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

6. The Bidding Document, in English, may be purchased by interested bidders from 09:00 to 14.00 hours (from Sunday through Thursday) upto 25 September 2007 and upon submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee mentioned in the above table.

The Bidding Documents may be sent through express mail for an additional fee of US$50.0. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. This Invitation for Bids is also available at www.cptu.gov.bd; www.petrobangla.org.bd; www.bgfcl.org.bd; and www.bapex.com.bd.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:00 hours on 26 September 2007, together with a Bid Security stated in the above table or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late Bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened at 11:30 hours on 26 September 2007 in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

8. BGFCL will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bids.

9. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
