Invitation for Rebidding

1.    The original Invitation for Bids posted in the ADB Business Opportunities on 28 June 2007.

2.    The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Gas Transmission and Development Project and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Rebidding Document is issued.

3.    The Gas Transmission Company Limited (the Purchaser) now invites sealed Bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the procurement of 762mm (30") OD Pipeline Induction Bends to Construct 762mm (30") OD 51.00 km high pressure natural gas transmission pipeline from Monohordi to Dhanua and Elenga to East Bank of Jamuna Bridge.

4.    Delivery and services under the contract shall be completed within 150 days counting from 30 days after issuance of Commitment Letter by ADB.

5.    International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. Detailed procedures are provided in the Revised Bidding Documents.

6.    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the following address:

7.    To purchase the Bidding Document, bidders should:

  • Submit a written application to the address above from 18 July 2008 during working hours on all working days. No Bidding Document will be sold on the closing date.
  • Pay a non-refundable as mentioned in the table above, in the form of Pay Order/Demand Draft in favour of "Gas Transmission Company Limited"
  • The Bidding Document may be sent through a courier for an additional fee of BD Tk500 (local delivery) and US$30 (international delivery).

8.    Bid must be delivered:

  • to the above address;
  • on or before 11:00 Hrs (BST) on 1 September 2008. Late Bid shall be rejected.

9.    Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security as mentioned in the table above. Bids will be opened at 11:15 hrs on 1 September 2008.

10.    The purchaser will not be responsible for any cost or expense incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bid.
