Invitation for Bids (First Posting 28 June 2007)

1. The original Invitation for Bids for the above two packages were posted in the ADB Business Opportunities on 28 June 2007.

2. The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Gas Transmission and Development Project and it is intended that a part of the funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Rebidding Document is issued.

3. The Gas Transmission Company Limited (herein after called "the Purchaser") now invites two (2) sealed Revised Bids from eligible bidders from member countries of ADB for the supply and delivery of: (i) Pipeline Induction Bends 762mm OD (30") with a centerline radius of 5D to 40D; and (ii) Miscellaneous Fittings for the Construction of 762mm OD (30") 51.00 km high pressure (1135 Psig) natural gas transmission pipeline from Monohordi to Dhanua and Elenga to East Bank of Jamuna Bridge. Details and specifications are provided in each set of Revised Bidding Documents.

4. Delivery and services under the contract shall be completed as per time mentioned in the following table counting from 30 (thirty) days after issuance of Commitment Letter by ADB.

5. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries. Detailed procedures are provided in the Revised Bidding Documents.

6. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Revised Bidding Documents at the following address:

7. The Revised Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of non-refundable fee in Bangladesh Taka or US Dollars as mentioned above, in the form of Pay Order/Demand Draft in favour of Gas Transmission Company Limited from 12 November 2007, during working hours. No Bid Document will be sold on the closing date of bid.

8. Bids must be delivered to the above mentioned address, at or before the date & time in accordance with the Instructions to bidders for each bid.

9. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security mentioned in the above table and must be delivered to Project Director, Monohordi-Dhanua-Elenga-East Bank of Jamuna Bridge Gas Transmission Pipeline and Installation of Compressor Station at Ashuganj and Elenga Project, GTCL. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened as per date and time stipulated on the above table. If the bids cannot be received and opened due to any unavoidable circumstances or holiday on scheduled date and time, bids shall be received and opened at the same venue and time on the subsequent working day.

10. The Purchaser will not be responsible for any cost or expense incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of bid.
