Invitation for Rebidding

1.    The People's Republic of Bangladesh has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Gas Transmission & Development Project and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for which this Bidding Document is issued.

2.    The Gas Transmission Company Limited (the Purchaser) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from member countries of the ADB for the supply and delivery of Coating Materials (Heat Shrink Sleeves, Tape & Primer) for the Construction of 508mm (20") OD 165.00 km high pressure (1135 Psig) natural gas transmission pipeline from Bheramara to Khulna under Bheramara-Khulna Gas Transmission Pipeline Project. Details and Specifications will be provided in the Bidding Document.

3.    Delivery and services under the contract shall be completed within 150 days counting from the date 30 days after issuance of Commitment Letter by ADB.

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.

5.    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document at the following address during office hours only:

6.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, bidders should:

• submit a written application to the address above;
• pay a non-refundable fee of US$ 75 or Tk. 5,000 in the form of Pay Order/Demand Draft in favour of Gas Transmission Company Limited. No Bidding Document will be sold on the closing date of the tender.

7.    Bid must be delivered:

• to the abovementioned address;
• on or before 03:00 hrs (Bangladesh Standard Time) on 2 September 2008. Late Bid shall be rejected.

8.    Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Taka 500,000 or US$ 7,500.

Bid will be opened in the presence of Bidder/Bidder's representative(s) who intends to attend at the address indicated above on 2 September 2008, at 3:30 pm.

9.    The Purchaser will not be responsible for any cost or expense incurred by the Bidder in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bid.
