1.    India has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Madhya Pradesh State Roads Project II, and it is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payment under the contract for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

2.    Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of the following civil works package.

3.    International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: Two-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

4.    To obtain further information and inspect and acquire the Bidding Document, bidders should contact the office of the Managing Director at the address below. The document shall be available for sale from 10:30 hrs to 17:30 hrs (IST) from 1 October 2009 to 9 November 2009.

5.    To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

1. visit the office of the Managing Director with a written application at the address indicated above, and pay a nonrefundable fee Indian Rupees 25,000 or US$515 in the form of demand draft in favor of the Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd., payable at any Scheduled Bank in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India;

   or

2. request for delivery by sending a written application to Managing Director at the address indicated above. The application must include a demand draft in favor of the Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd., payable at any Scheduled Bank in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India for the amount of Indian Rupees 26,000 (local delivery) or $615 (international delivery). The employer shall promptly dispatch the Document by courier/post. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.    A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Office of Managing Director at the address above on 21 October 2009 at 11:00 hrs.

7.    Deliver your bid:

• to the address above;
• on or before 11:00 hrs., 16 November 2009. Late bids will be rejected. In the event of the specified deadline for submission of bid being declared a Government holiday, the next official working day would be deemed as the last day for the submission of bids.

8.    Bids must be accompanied by a bid security as detailed in the bidding document.

9.    Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline for submission of bids in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend.

10.    The MPRDC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the bidder in connection with preparation or delivery of bids.
