1. Nepal has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Urban and Environmental Improvement Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
2. The Project Implementation Unit of Hetauda Municipality now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for construction and completion of the following Works:
Infiltration gallery (1 Nos.) at Samari river, supply and Laying of HDPE Pipes (approx. 70 km.), DI Pipe (approx. 2.3 km.), RCC overhead service reservoir (3 Nos.), RCC Ground Reservoir (1 No.), Deep Tube Well (3 Nos.), Auto filter water treatment plant (1 No.), Water Softener (1 No.), Supply of pumps, Supply of Diesel Generators , Supply of O & M tools and Supply of water meter (approx. 3500 Nos.)
The estimated construction duration of the contract is 18 months.
3. International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single- Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure without prequalification.

4. Only eligible bidders with the following qualifications should participate in this bidding:
- demonstrate extensive construction experience in similar projects
- average construction turnover of US$3.3 million per year.

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
- Write to address above requesting the bidding documents for Contract No. HE-ICB-B-03; Water Supply Subproject
- Pay a non-refundable fee of NRs.4,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency . Method of payment will be by a Bank Draft or cash deposit in favor of Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Hetauda Municipality.
7. Deliver your bid:
- to the address above
- on or before 23 August 2007
- together with a Bid Security of US$ 61,800 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency or Nepali Rupees.
8. Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders' representative who choose to attend.
9. The Employer will send the Bidding Document by express mail or courier for an additional fee of US$ 62. The Employer accepts no liability for loss or late delivery.
10. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions of the Bidding Document.
