Invitation for Bids

Loan No.: 2289-PAK: Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program
Contract No.:ADB-08-2007- Procurement of 500 kV, 220 kV and 132 kV control and relay panels and other allied equipment
Deadline for Bids: :11 August 2007

1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above.

2. The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for procurement of:

A bidder may bid for one lot or a combination of lots.

3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain additional information from National Transmission and Dispatch Company and inspect the bidding document at the address given below, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

5. The bidding document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested bidders from 27 June 2007, on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs6000 or US$100. The method of payment will be by bank draft from any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of CE (MP&M) NTDC, 622-WAPDA House, Lahore. The documents may be collected in person or may be sent by express airmail. For an additional fee of Rs3000 for domestic delivery or USD50 for overseas delivery, the documents may be sent by courier services . No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 am, on 11 August 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amounts stated in the above table. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 11:30 am on 11 August 2007.

8. The NTDC will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation of delivery of bids.

9. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
