1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in the adb.org on 15 June 2006.
2. The Independent State of Papua New Guinea has received loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Supplementary Loans for the Road Maintenance and Upgrading (Sector) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above for this Invitation for Bids is issued.
3. The Department of Works now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the upgrading and sealing of the Lame Bridge to Laiagam Road (19.4 km) of Enga Province.
4. International Competitive Bidding (ICB) will be conducted with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

6. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:

- pay a non-refundable fee of K400 or US$ equivalent by cash or bank draft
- additional fee of K200 or US$ equivalent by cash or bank draft if courier service is required
- no liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery

7. Deliver your bid:
- to the address above
- on or before the deadline: 10:00 am (PNG Time), 27 August 2007
- together with a Bid Security of K380,000 or an equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
