1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in
the December 2004 issue of the ADB Business Opportunities.
2. The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a loan from the Asian Development
Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Conflict Affected Areas Rehabilitation Project and it intends to
apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract named above.
3. The Ceylon Electricity Board now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of 33kV and 11kV DDLO switches and expulsion fuse links:

4. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ceylon Electricity Board and inspect
the Bidding Document at the address given below from 09:00 to 15:00 hours.
6. To purchase the Bidding Document, in the English language, eligible bidders should:
- write to the address below
- pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 3000 or US$ 30 in cash, money order or bank draft drawn
in favor of:

The document will be sent by courier services for an additional fee of Rs. 5000 or US$ 50 for overseas delivery. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
7. Bidders should deliver their bids:
- to the address below
- on or before the deadline: 10.00 hours, 5 September 2007
- together with a Bid Security of:
Package-A : SL Rs. 22,000
Package-B : SL Rs. 1,000
Late Bids shall be rejected.
8. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the bidders' or their authorized representatives who choose to attend at the at the address given below
9. The Ceylon Electricity Board will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the preparation and delivery of bids.

10. In the comparison of bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance
with the provisions in the Bidding Document.
