Invitation for Bids
1. The Republic of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Urban Water Supply Project. Part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract for procurement of chlorination equipment, including Installation in the chlorinator plants in the cities Gulistan, Djizzak and Karshi. The eligibility rules and procedures of the ADB will govern the bidding process. 2. The ADB Project Management Unit of the Uzbekistan Communal Services Agency (the Purchaser) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of the chlorination equipment including Installation of the chlorinator plants in the cities of Gulistan, Djizzak and Karshi:

International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries. 4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Purchaser and inspect the Bidding Document at the address given below, from 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours. 5. The Bidding Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee US$70 or its equivalent in Uzbek Soums (UZS). The method of payment will be by cashier's check or direct deposit to: For Dollar Direct Deposits: For UZB Soum Direct Deposits: The document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery or surface mail for local delivery for an additional fee of US$70. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. 6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 15:00 hours on 10 September 2008. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US $ 12,400.00. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 15:00 hours on 10 September 2008. 7. The Purchaser will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids. 8. In the comparison of Bids, ADB's Domestic Preference Scheme will be applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders. ADB Project Management Unit Specific Notice |
