Invitation for Bids

1.    The Republic of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Kashkadarya and Navoi Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project. Part of the proceeds of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open for all bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

2.    The Project Implementation Units of "Uzkommunkhizmat" Agency in the city of Karshi and Navoi (the Employer) invite sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of water supply and sanitation works in rural settlements of Shahrisabz district of Kashkadarya province (lots 5 and 6) and Navbakhor district of Navoi province (the Works) (lots 7-8).

3.    Only eligible Bidders with the following key qualification should participate in the bidding:

• The Bidder should possess experience of construction in a role of contractor or subcontractor for the last three years;
• The Bidder should possess experience of construction of water pipe networks from not metal pipes ø 50-300 mm, including laying of networks in narrow streets for the last 3 years;
• The Bidder should possess experience of constructions of buildings and structures of industrial destination (pump stations, reservoir and auxiliary buildings and structures);
• The Bidder should have minimal average annual construction turnover for the last 3 years;

4.    National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure.

6.    To purchase the Bidding Documents in English, eligible bidders should:

• write to the above address requesting for the Bidding Document for:

• pay for each lot a non-refundable fee of UZS 200 000 or US$ 150 at the date of payment in the form of bank check or remittance to the account indicated below.
• The Bidding Documents may be sent by airmail or surface mail for an additional fee of UZS 300 000 (local delivery) or US$ 220 (overseas delivery) for each lot. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery

7.    Deliver your bids:

• to the above address;
• before or not later than: 16:00 hrs of 14 September 2009.

8.    Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in UZB soums or in hard currency at the exchange rate for the date of drawing the Bid Security in a Bank to the amount of:
